Mr & Mrs Trueman – Salford
Christine gave me a ring in January 2014 regarding her bathroom and asked for some advice on possibilities in the bathroom area. We met onsite and it became apparant that somebody previously had messed around with the flooring in the bathroom and had ended up raising one side of the bathroom floor. We suspected this was to provide space under the floor for the shower waste which isnt the best way forward to say the least. Anyway this was proven correct when we removed all the old furniture and flooring. Needless to say we restored the floor back to its original height before installing the new bathroom suite. An easy plumb system was decided upon to provide easy access to the shower waste if necessary at a future date. The easy plumb system basically means the shower tray sits a bit higher off the floor and the plumbing is easily accessible behind the plinth which is attached to the front of the shower tray. This also removes the necessity of going through floor joists with the wastes.
All wall and floor tiling was removed down to brick/plaster. Patch plaster repairs were made and then the full room was tiled from floor to ceiling in ceramic tiles. The flooring was prepared with a 12mm ply sub base, primered and then tiled over using mapei super flexible adhesive which is always recommended for timber floors due to the “give” it provided in the flooring. 900mm quadrant shower, toilet, pan & cistern, Sink & pedestal, towel radiator and vanity mirror were then installed. Job was completed in approximately 7 days from rip out to finish.
